Fans awaiting Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups will have to wait longer, with the makers announcing a fresh delay in the film’s release, scrapping its June 4, 2026 theatrical debut as they prepare for a larger global rollout.
Backed by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the high-profile project has now been postponed twice, having earlier shifted from March 19 to June 4. A new worldwide release date is yet to be confirmed.
The latest delay comes after the film’s showcase at CinemaCon, where it reportedly generated strong interest among international distributors and industry insiders.
Actor-producer Yash said the reaction at CinemaCon reinforced the team’s belief in the film’s global potential.
“There are films we make, and then there are films that remind us why we fell in love with cinema. Toxic has been one such journey,” Yash said in a statement.
“Presenting our film at CinemaCon and witnessing the overwhelming global response reaffirmed what we have always believed that this film deserves to reach its fullest potential worldwide.”
He added that the delay reflects a conscious decision to scale up the film’s impact internationally.
“At a time when Indian cinema is finding its voice and stepping onto the global stage with such promise, each of us has a responsibility to raise the bar,” he said.
“I see this moment as an opportunity to do my part for the Indian film industry and for all of us by taking the time to ensure our film reaches the world with the impact it is meant to have.”
Yash also thanked fans for their continued support, acknowledging that the film’s journey has required patience.
“Some stories ask for patience. Some journeys demand it. We promise to give you a film to enjoy and celebrate.”
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film is co-written by Mohandas and Yash. It features a star-studded cast including Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria.
Shot in Kannada and English, Toxic will also release in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, underlining its ambition as a pan-India and global cinematic venture.
While the repeated delays may test fans’ patience, the makers are positioning Toxic as a film designed not just for release, but for a worldwide cinematic event.
