Referring to such an actor in the world of cinema, he mentioned Daniel Day-Lewis, the actor who portrayed Abraham Lincoln

In his recent conversation with RJ Rafi for Club FM, actor Vinay Forrt cleared the air regarding the existence of method actors in Indian cinema — or, for that matter, in the Malayalam film industry — by stating that there are none.
Explaining to the RJ, the seasoned actor said, "See, for example, you are going to play the character of an Indian Coffee House waiter in a place like, maybe, Vadakara. Then, if you are a method actor, before getting into the role, you will go to that particular place, dress up, behave like a waiter, live the person's life — now that’s the essence of being a method actor," Vinay Forrt explained in detail.
Referring to such an actor in the world of cinema, he mentioned Daniel Day-Lewis, the actor who portrayed Abraham Lincoln. In a career spanning over three to four decades, the actor has featured in just 20–30 films. He pursues method acting to the core.
"Daniel, while doing the film My Left Foot, was confined to a wheelchair for a long period. He ate, went to the washroom — he did almost everything in the wheelchair. By the time the shoot was over, he had even fractured himself. Such actors are often taken to rehabilitation centres after such enduring and testing processes," Vinay Forrt said.
While briefing on the process, he stated that actors in Hollywood and other big industries get paid even for the rehearsal process involved in such mammoth endeavours.
"Whether it be in Malayalam or any other film industry in India, we — the actors — often end up doing three to five films a year. It is not economically feasible to pursue something like 'method acting', which requires deep dedication and patience. I feel it is a highly misinterpreted term here," said the young star.
In the lengthy conversation, Vinay shed light on his latest movie Samshayam, shared his ideas about his craft, life, and ambitions, and also teased the listeners with little insights into his much-anticipated Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, directed by Althaf Salim. In the film, he shares screen space with an array of actors including Fahadh Faasil, Kalyani Priyadarshan, and Dhyan Sreenivasan.
