Season 4’s eight episodes follow Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri’s separate journeys after Season 3’s dramatic finale

Netflix has announced that The Witcher Season 4 will premiere worldwide on October 30, 2025. This highly anticipated season marks the debut of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, taking over the iconic role from Henry Cavill, who portrayed the character in the first three seasons.
The new season features eight episodes, continuing the dark fantasy saga inspired by Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels. Season 4 follows the aftermath of continent-altering events from Season 3, with Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri separated by war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge, they encounter unexpected allies, and if they can accept these newfound families, they may stand a chance at reuniting for good.
The first official teaser reveals Hemsworth’s Geralt in action, battling a spectral wraith. When his sword proves ineffective, Geralt uses his Witcher Signs—Aard and Yrden—to trap and destroy the ghostly entity, showcasing intense supernatural combat and magic that fans love.
Alongside Hemsworth, core cast members like Freya Allan (Ciri), Anya Chalotra (Yennefer), and Joey Batey (Jaskier) return. The season introduces Laurence Fishburne as Regis, a mysterious and compelling new character with a dark past that fans are eager to explore.
Season 4 is part of the penultimate arc of the series, with showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich confirming that the final two seasons will adapt the last three books in Sapkowski’s saga: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake. Hissrich expressed excitement about revamping the series with fresh energy while maintaining the essence beloved by fans.
Henry Cavill announced his departure from the series in October 2022, endorsing Hemsworth as his successor. Hemsworth, who previously starred in The Hunger Games franchise, expressed his enthusiasm and honour to step into the role of the White Wolf.
