Toxic trailer review: Yash delivers peak swag, while Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and the stellar female cast make Geetu Mohandas' film a visual spectacle.

If the goal of ‘Toxic’ was to make audiences sit up and say, "This is going to be a theatrical event," then the trailer absolutely delivers.
From its opening warning, "Kids... Stay Away", the trailer establishes that this isn't trying to be a conventional action film. It embraces a dark, mature, almost graphic-novel aesthetic, mixing stylised violence with slick visuals and an unmistakable swagger.
The biggest surprise, however, are the women of the film.
From Nayanthara roaring through the streets on a motorcycle to Tara Sutaria exuding old-school gangster cool with a cigar, every female character arrives with style, attitude and purpose. Kiara Advani is mysterious and commanding, while Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth leave a strong impression despite their brief appearances. They're not just part of the story, they're shaping it.

And then ofcourse, there is Yash. His effortless screen presence, understated swagger and larger-than-life aura remind you why he's one of Indian cinema's biggest stars.
But instead of overshadowing the ensemble, he complements it. He doesn't need lengthy dialogues or exaggerated introductions. The trailer lets his attitude do the talking. His calm demeanor, intense gaze and effortless handling of weapons reinforce the larger-than-life image that audiences expect from him.
Every frame feels calculated to build anticipation rather than reveal too much.
If the trailer is any indication, director Geetu Mohandas is attempting to tell a story that's stylish yet uncompromising, where every character exists in shades of grey rather than black and white.
Coupled with Rajeev Ravi's moody cinematography, Toxic feels less like a typical mass entertainer and more like an immersive crime epic that isn't afraid to push the boundaries of mainstream Indian cinema.
Whether Toxic lives up to the promise of its trailer remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: it has delivered one of the coolest, most visually striking first looks in recent Indian cinema, where the women are just as "mass" as the hero, and that's what makes it feel genuinely fresh.
The movie will hit theaters on August 26, 2026.
