Ajith Kumar says the Karur tragedy reflects collective responsibility and warns against star-crowd obsession in his Front Row interview.

Chennai — In a candid interview on the talk show Front Row with Anupama Chopra on the Film Companion platform, actor Ajith Kumar spoke out for the first time about the tragic Karur rally stampede. Although the incident occurred during a gathering for actor-politician Vijay, Ajith stressed that the blame should not rest with any single individual.
“There is so much happening in Tamil Nadu because of the stampede. That individual itself is not responsible. We all are responsible. We become so obsessed with crowds. It projects the whole film industry in a bad light,” Ajith said.
He pointed to the phenomenon of massive crowds at stars’ appearances and warned that unchecked enthusiasm can cast the entire film-industry in a negative spotlight.
