Kozhikode: A day after a church under the Idukki diocese screened 'The Kerala Story', the Thamarassery and Thalassery dioceses also decided to show the controversial movie.
The Kerala Catholic Youth Movement (KCYM) will screen the film at various venues in the state. Thalassery KCYM will screen the film at 208 parishes.
The Idukki Diocese, under the prominent Syro Malabar Catholic Church, screened the movie last week for children studying in classes 10, 11, and 12, and asked them to discuss the film and write a review.
KCYM said that the film exposes cheating in the name of love. It also questioned why the political parties are afraid of the movie.
Directed by Sudipto Sen, the film is about a group of women from Kerala who were forced to convert to Islam and join ISIS.
Despite a strong protest raised by the ruling CPM and Congress in Kerala, Doordarshan last week aired the controversial Bollywood movie 'The Kerala Story'. Following this, the Idukki diocese decided to screen the film.
