With momentum on its side, 'Jailer 2' is shaping up to be one of the biggest Indian films in the making.

After the massive success of Jailer, superstar Rajinikanth is poised to reprise his iconic role in Jailer 2, with Nelson Dilipkumar once again at the helm. The original Jailer was a blockbuster, raking in approximately ₹700 crore worldwide and earning both critical acclaim and the adoration of fans. The sequel is now in full swing, filming across multiple locations in India and already generating buzz as one of the most anticipated Indian films.
Santhanam expected to join
Adding to the excitement is the anticipated appearance of popular comedian-turned-hero Santhanam. According to recent industry reports, he’s set to play a significant role in Jailer 2—a welcome return to his comic roots in a film led by a megastar. With Nelson’s proven knack for blending action and humour, Santhanam’s inclusion promises a delightful mix of nostalgia and laughter.
Nagarjuna enters the arena
In another major development, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna Akkineni, who is currently sharing the screen with Rajinikanth in Coolie, is reportedly in talks to join the cast of Jailer 2. If confirmed, this will mark his second consecutive appearance alongside the thalaivar, reinforcing the sequel’s pan-Indian appeal with a star-studded ensemble.
A powerful sequel in the making
The timing couldn’t be more poignant, as Rajinikanth recently completed 50 illustrious years in cinema. From his debut in Apoorva Raagangal in 1975 to becoming a cultural icon, his journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.
As he embarks on Jailer 2, the film not only promises action, charisma and star power, but also marks another chapter in the legacy of a true thalaivar.
