Tanishaa Mukerji has criticised what she called the “blind hate” of “well-educated elitist Hindus”, urging people not to look down on India amid the debate surrounding Elon Musk and Starlink.

Actress Tanishaa Mukerji has criticised what she described as the “blind hate” of some “well-educated elitist Hindus”, accusing them of looking down on India while expressing admiration for Western countries.
In a lengthy post on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday, the actress took aim at a section of people who, she suggested, were supporting Elon Musk amid his recent remarks about Starlink’s entry into the Indian market.
“I am truly shocked by the blind hate of some supposedly well educated elitist Hindus that live with a complete British hangover! If u love london and America so much. Pls leave. We don’t want u here trying to put us down!” she wrote.
Acknowledging that India continues to face several challenges, Tanishaa said the country had made progress over the past decade. She also questioned why people supporting the government were labelled “andhbhakts” and uneducated, while those backing groups critical of India from abroad were considered “cool and woke”.

The actress did not name anyone directly in her post, despite the discussion being centred on Musk's social media platform.
“There is a war for ur mindset. Ur attention and ur thoughts. But pls don’t be so influenced by media that you refuse to use ur own common sense! Things should be logical, factual. And a society ruled by laws is the way we stay safe,” she added.
Tanishaa's remarks come amid a controversy surrounding Musk and Starlink's proposed entry into the Indian market. Musk had expressed displeasure over the company's satellite internet services not being available in India and alleged that its entry had been blocked at the behest of an Indian billionaire.

The actress had earlier courted controversy by referring to the Maharashtra state electricity board as a “mafia” while voicing her concerns over the issue.
