Chennai: On his birthday, South Indian actor Suriya received a special gift from director Karthik Subbaraj—a teaser video of their upcoming film tentatively titled 'Suriya 44'. The teaser offers a glimpse into the movie, leaving viewers intrigued about Suriya's character, which oscillates between heroism and villainy.
Filming for 'Suriya 44' commenced recently with its first schedule completed in the scenic locales of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Suriya appears in a unique avatar with long hair and a distinctive moustache which seems to add complexity to his role.

This film marks the first collaboration between Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj. The film also features Malayalam actors Jayaram and Joju George in prominent roles. Pooja Hegde stars as the female lead. Pooja had shared several pictures from her shoot days in Andaman.
