Super Bowl 2026 combined sport and entertainment, with a series of new movie previews airing during the game’s commercial breaks. Continuing a long-held tradition, the NFL’s marquee event offered audiences a first look at nine upcoming films, with studios unveiling new footage, surprise reveals and fresh character introductions. The star-studded stands – featuring Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, Kendall Jenner, Hailey and Justin Bieber, Cardi B, Pedro Pascal, Young Miko, Kim Kardashian and Lewis Hamilton – only added to the spectacle.

Here is every film that premiered new content during Super Bowl LX:

Disclosure Day

Steven Spielberg returned to extraterrestrial storytelling, offering an action-heavy second trailer for ‘Disclosure Day’. The footage highlighted a world thrown into turmoil, with Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo and Colin Firth portraying characters caught in the chaos of an alien presence. The film marks Spielberg’s first revisit to the genre since ‘War of the Worlds’ and evokes echoes of his classic ‘ET’.

Hoppers

‘Hoppers’ offered a family-friendly moment during the broadcast. The story follows Mabel (Piper Curda), an animal-loving teen fighting to protect her glade from destruction. Using new technology that lets her “hop” into the consciousness of a robotic beaver, she discovers she can communicate with wildlife while standing up to Mayor Jerry (voiced by Jon Hamm).

The Mandalorian and Grogu

The fan-favourite duo returned in a snowy Super Bowl spot, showing Din Djarin guiding a group of tauntauns with Grogu at his side. Pedro Pascal reprises his role in the feature-length expansion of the ‘Star Wars’ universe, with the preview emphasising intergalactic adventure and bond-driven storytelling.

Project Hail Mary

A fresh TV spot expanded on the emotional sci-fi storyline, showing Ryan Gosling as a schoolteacher who wakes up alone on a spacecraft with no memory. The clip revealed the puppetry behind Rocky – a spider-like alien voiced through the work of artist James Ortiz – as the pair join forces to solve a cosmic crisis threatening both their galaxies.

Supergirl

James Gunn used the massive stage to spotlight ‘Supergirl’, showcasing Kara Zor-El (played by Milly Alcock) and featuring the return of Krypto, the superpowered dog. The dramatic footage offered glimpses of life on Krypton during its final days, signalling a more emotional and character-centred take on the DC hero.

The Adventures of Cliff Booth

In a surprise move, Netflix dropped a teaser for ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’, the unexpected continuation of Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Once Upon a Time…’ in Hollywood. Directed by David Fincher, the spot showcased Brad Pitt’s return as the cool-headed stuntman, sparking immediate fan excitement.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Nintendo fans were treated to a lively teaser for the follow-up to the 2023 animated hit. ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ sees Yoshi and Toad on a mission to rescue Baby Mario and Baby Luigi from a T-rex. Chris Pratt returns as Mario, with the film slated for release on 1 April 2026.

Scream 7

The latest instalment in the slasher franchise pivots to a new generation, focusing on Sidney Prescott’s daughter, now the same age Sidney was in the 1996 original. The Super Bowl spot promised a more vicious Ghostface as the legacy of Woodsboro’s horrors resurfaces.

Minions & Monsters

Audiences got a chaotic first look at ‘Minions & Monsters’, which follows the yellow icons as they search the globe for ghouls, ghosts and mythical creatures. The film leans into the mascots’ trademark chaos – and, as included exactly from the original description, its synopsis reads, “This is the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created."
