Indian director SS Jishnu Dev won Best Director at the Oniros International Film Awards in New York for Rotten Society, adding to the film’s 125 international honours.

Indian filmmaker SS Jishnu Dev has been honoured with the Best Director Award at the prestigious Oniros International Film Awards in New York for his experimental film 'Rotten Society'. He secured the award after competing in the final round against five international films. Alongside him, Prince Johnson was recognised as Best Supporting Actor. 'Rotten Society' continues its remarkable journey, having already won 125 international film festival awards worldwide.
The film revolves around the story of a mentally unstable man who unexpectedly comes into possession of a camera, capturing a series of unusual visuals.
Produced under the banner of Varaha Films, the movie was backed by Jinu Celin and Snehal Rao. Actor T Sunil Punnakkad plays the central role of the disturbed man. The cast also features Baby Aaradhya, Shaji Balaramapuram, Manasa Prabhu, Jinu Celin, Gautham S Kumar, Vipin Sreehari, Ramesh Attukal, and Chala Kumar.
SS Jishnu Dev not only directed the film but also handled the editing, cinematography, and screenplay. Earlier, he had been honoured with the Rabindranath Tagore Smriti Pratham Visual Media Award at the Kalanidhi Folk Festival, further cementing his reputation as an innovative filmmaker. The film’s PR was managed by Ajay Thundathil.
