The revelation of Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre's cancer diagnosis left fans reeling. Bendre's subsequent updates on her treatment journey through social media provided glimpses into her resilience. Recounting her ordeal post-remission, Bendre describes her battle with cancer as a harrowing nightmare.

Sonali Bendre opened up about her battle with cancer in a talk show with Humans of Bombay. Bendre shared her initial disbelief upon learning of her diagnosis, questioning why such a fate befell her. Waking up each day, she hoped the illness was merely a dreadful dream. Sonali said that she never thought that something like this would happen to her.

In her post on social media, she wrote, “How time flies... today when I look back, I see strength, I see weakness but most importantly I see the will to not let the C word define how my life will be after it… You create the life you choose. The journey is what you make of it... so remember to take.”

The actor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, following which she sought treatment in the United States. Sonali had said in an interview that when she came for treatment in New York, the cancer was in the fourth stage and the doctor told her that there was only a 30 percent chance of survival. Sonali, whose husband is director Goldie Behl, recently acted in the web series ‘The Broken News’. The series will begin airing on Zee 5 this coming May.
