Screenwriter S.N. Swamy said that the climax scene in the 1988 blockbuster film 'Moonnam Mura,' featuring Mohanlal and directed by K. Madhu had undergone alterations.

The film's central plot revolves around the police seeking the help of the character played by Mohanlal to rescue high-ranking political officials kidnapped during a road trip by a group of terrorists.

The writer of the CBI film series revealed in a recent interview that the film's climax had to be altered at the last minute after the censor board refused to issue a certificate.

"...The climax you see today differs from the original scene I wrote. After Ali Imran (Mohanlal's character in the film) saves everyone, his name does not appear in the following day's newspaper. Instead, the newspaper portrays the Kerala Police as the driving force behind the mission to rescue the kidnapped individuals. We shot the final scene, but the censor board did not want the police to appear as the bad guys in the end. So we reshot the entire climax, which is what you see today," he explained in an interview with Saina South Plus.
