Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Maala Parvathi has come out in strong support of fellow artistes Shwetha Menon and Kukku Parameswaran, both of whom are currently facing serious allegations in the lead-up to the upcoming AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) elections. In a social media post, Maala Parvathi alleged a conspiracy targeting those likely to win, describing the situation as a ruthless power struggle following Mohanlal’s decision to step down from leadership.

“There is a fierce race to become the head of AMMA after Lal sir stepped aside,” Maala Parvathi wrote. “With the calculations of some prominent individuals falling apart, certain actors are now resorting to anything and everything to secure victory. Allegations are flying thick and fast, aimed squarely at those expected to win.”

She specifically highlighted how Kukku Parameswaran and Shwetha Menon were being targeted. “First it was Kukku, now Shwetha. I urge people not to dismiss this as a mere organisational matter. This is a deliberate attack on two women; they are being made scapegoats in a larger power game.”

Maala Parvathi also demanded that both Shwetha Menon and Kukku Parameswaran take legal action. “They must file a case against this conspiracy. Initially, I thought this was just childish electoral drama, but the motives of those involved are more sinister. A non-bailable case has now been filed against Shwetha, and the legal sections were applied through a court verdict.”

In her post, she acknowledged the contributions of actors Mohanlal and Mammootty to AMMA’s development and financial stability. “Thanks to the leadership of Mohanlal and Mammookka, and the collective efforts of other stars, AMMA today possesses significant assets, which have been well-utilised for members’ welfare and healthcare,” she noted.

However, she expressed concern that this legacy is now being tainted by a fierce internal battle.

Her remarks come at a time of heightened tension within the association, with the upcoming elections seeing an unusually intense contest and a noticeable shift in alliances. The situation has sparked wider discussions within the industry and among the public, especially with allegations taking a legal turn.
