Actor Shruti Haasan has been widely praised after the family of a young girl suffering from a rare genetic condition shared an emotional tribute to her on Instagram, crediting the star with saving their daughter’s life.

The family, whose child has Mendelian Susceptibility to Mycobacterial Diseases (MSMD), posted photographs and videos of Shruti spending time with the girl, along with a heartfelt note describing her compassion, humility and unwavering support during a critical period.

According to the family, their daughter — born in 2023 — required a bone marrow transplant in 2025. During that time, Shruti and her team reportedly stepped in to provide immediate assistance, ensuring the child received timely and advanced medical care. The family said the actor supported them both emotionally and financially, adding that their daughter is alive today because of her intervention.

They also recalled being invited into Shruti Haasan’s private space, describing the gesture as a rare gift. The actor, they said, welcomed them like family and treated their daughter with remarkable patience, warmth and sincerity.

The Instagram post included the following statement from the child’s father:

“They say you should never meet your heroes, but clearly, they haven't met @shrutzhaasan.

I have always been someone who feels a lot but says very little and today my heart is just overflowing. This meeting was a milestone. Seeing Shruti again after years and this time as a husband and a father felt like life coming full circle in the most beautiful way.

What moved me the most was not just her presence but her incredible kindness. To be invited into her private space is a rare gift but the way she welcomed us felt like family. The way she was with Aazhvi so sweet, so patient and so genuinely warm is something i will hold onto forever. Seeing Aazhvi's face light up because of Shruti's sweetness and that big bag of biscuits she so thoughtfully gave her! made me the happiest.
