Actor and musician Shruti Haasan has moved into a new home in Chennai, marking the occasion with a traditional grihapravesh ceremony attended by close family members. The actor shared glimpses of the housewarming rituals on social media.

The pictures show Shruti seated on the floor as priests performed the puja, with sweets arranged for the auspicious occasion and the keys to her new home placed alongside the ceremonial offerings. The intimate ceremony reflected a simple and traditional beginning to this new chapter in her life.

One fan page captioned the photos, “Shruti Haasan steps into a beautiful new chapter! The actor-musician celebrates her new Chennai home with a traditional griha pravesh puja, surrounded by love, blessings, and fresh beginnings.”

Shruti's decision to buy a home in Chennai brings her closer to her hometown after spending years balancing work across the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi film industries. The new residence comes nearly a year after filmmaker Farah Khan visited Shruti's distinctive Mumbai home, which gained attention for its gothic interiors and deeply personal décor.

Her Mumbai residence reflects her artistic personality, with a spacious living area divided into a music room, sitting area and dining space. The home features unpainted walls, high ceilings, large windows that allow natural light to stream in, vibrant artwork, warm lighting and indoor plants.

The actor has also dedicated a section of the house to collectibles gathered over the years. Among the personal items are a knife gifted by her father, Kamal Haasan, duck figurines collected during her travels, books, posters, disco balls and anime figurines. Another room is devoted entirely to her passion for music, housing several instruments, including a guitar decorated with a gas mask, a piano and references to her musical alter ego, Fiona.

The Mumbai home also includes a spacious kitchen, where Shruti has often spoken about enjoying cooking, as well as a living area where she spends time creating music and entertaining guests. While her Mumbai apartment showcases her creative interests, the new Chennai home is expected to offer a quieter space closer to family and familiar surroundings.

On the professional front, Shruti continues to stay busy with several upcoming projects. She was last seen in a special appearance in the song ‘Hellallallo’ from ‘Peddi’, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. The energetic track, composed by AR Rahman, featured Shruti in a special dance number that received attention following its release.

She will next be seen in ‘Train’, directed by ‘Mysskin’, alongside Vijay Sethupathi. Shruti also has ‘Aakasamlo Oka Tara’ lined up for release. Reports have additionally suggested that she is expected to feature in the second season of ‘Call Me Bae’, although an official announcement is awaited.
