Thiruvananthapuram: ‘Lokah Chapter One: Chandra’, produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films and directed by Dominic Arun, is continuing its phenomenal run at the box office, emerging as the biggest hit among this year’s Onam releases. The film is currently being screened on 503 screens across Kerala.
As an Onam gift to audiences, the makers have released the video for the much-anticipated song ‘Shoka Mookam’, which comes with the tagline ‘Boys’ Anthem’.
‘Shoka Mookam’: A musical highlight
The song, composed by J.K., features lyrics penned by Vinayak Sasikumar and is sung by Benny Dayal, Pranav Sasi, and Jemaima. Music director J.K. has also lent his voice to the track. The film stars Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in lead roles, who feature prominently in the song sequence.
The film entered the coveted ₹100 crore club within its first week of release, becoming the highest-grossing female-centric film in South India to date. ‘Lokah’ continues to receive overwhelming support from audiences both in and outside Kerala, with impressive collections in other states as well.
The film’s dubbed versions in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi are also performing strongly, gaining traction across platforms and regions.
A pan-India superhero universe begins
‘Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra’ is the first instalment in a superhero cinematic universe, inspired by the legendary tale of Kalliyankattu Neeli, a well-known folklore figure from Kerala. The film opens up a visually rich, mythical world for audiences, blending folklore with modern cinematic storytelling.
The ensemble cast also includes Chanthu Salimkumar, Arun Kurian, Sarath Sabha, Nishanth Sagar, and Vijayaraghavan, along with several thrilling guest appearances that have added to the buzz around the film.
