'The Pet Detective' starring Sharafudheen and Anupama Parameswaran in lead roles began shooting on Thursday in Ernakulam. The movie is directed by Praneesh Vijayan. The shoot began with a pooja ceremony held at Thrikkakara Sri Vamana Moorthy Temple. Actor Ranji Panicker performed the switch-on ceremony. The script of the film has been co-prepared by director Praneesh Vijayan and Jai Vishnu.
 
Produced under the banner of Sharafudheen Productions, this movie marks his debut in the production field. 
 
The first-look poster, which was released earlier, was well accepted by movie lovers. It is said to be a mass romantic comedy-entertainment movie.
