Shanthnu Bhagyaraj paid an emotional tribute to his late father K. Bhagyaraj, saying he wished he could give “10 years of his life” to him.

Chennai: Actor Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, who is mourning the loss of his father, veteran filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj, shared an emotional post on X expressing his grief and love. The actor said that if he could, he would have “transferred 10 years of his life” to his father.
Taking to his X timeline, a heartbroken Shanthnu also posted a clip of a speech he had delivered earlier, reflecting on his deep admiration for his father.

The video shared by Shanthnu Bhagyaraj shows him delivering a speech in the presence of his parents. In the clip, the actor says, "If I can, I wish to give 10 years of my life to my dad. That is because that will mean that for another additional ten years, you will make more movies, tell more stories to the people. As a fan and as a learner, I wish to learn from those films."
His emotional message and public expression of love for his father have touched many on social media. Several users have responded with messages of support and condolences, consoling the grieving actor.
Veteran Tamil filmmaker, screenwriter, and actor K. Bhagyaraj passed away on Saturday after suffering a major cardiac arrest. He was 73.
He is widely regarded as one of the legends of Tamil cinema. He is survived by his wife Poornima Bhagyaraj, son Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, and daughter Saranya Bhagyaraj.
According to sources, Bhagyaraj experienced chest pain after returning from his morning walk. He was immediately taken to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
His sudden death has left the Tamil film industry in deep shock and mourning. The loss has also been felt more deeply as it comes just 17 days after the passing of his mentor, filmmaker K. Bharathirajaa, another iconic figure in Tamil cinema.
Several actors, directors, producers, and members of the film industry, along with fans across the country, have expressed their grief and paid tribute to the great filmmaker, remembering his immense contribution to Indian cinema.
