Following this prolonged legal and censor-related debate, "Haal" has now received its UA 16+ certification

After a series of controversies, Shane Nigam's much-discussed film "Haal" is finally set to reach audiences. The film has been granted a UA 16+ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification and will hit theatres on December 25 as a Christmas release.
Directed by Veera, the film had earlier attracted widespread attention following the censor board's directive to remove certain scenes. cThe CBFC had suggested as many as 16 cuts, including a scene depicting the consumption of beef biryani. The board maintained that certification would be granted only if these cuts were implemented.
Challenging this decision, the makers of "Haal" approached the High Court. While a single bench struck down four of the proposed cuts, appeals filed by the CBFC and the Catholic Congress against this order were later dismissed. The Division Bench upheld the single bench verdict after the judges personally viewed the film. The bench reportedly observed that they had enjoyed watching the film.
