Mumbai: Actress Preeti Jhangiani, who made her Bollywood debut in the 2000 blockbuster Mohabbatein, recently opened up about the humility and grounded nature of superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan during the film’s shoot. Despite their legendary status, both actors refrained from any on-set privileges, including not having specially designated chairs or throwing typical star tantrums.

In a candid conversation with Lallantop Cinema, Preeti recalled moments from the set that left a lasting impression on her. “There was no chair marked with ‘Shah Rukh Khan’ or ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ on it. Sometimes, I would see Shah Rukh sitting on the floor chatting with the spot boys, genuinely asking them about their lives,” she shared.

She noted that both Shah Rukh and Amitabh carried themselves with quiet dignity, never demanding special treatment or acting entitled. “They never asked for a special buffet or made demands. Yes, they had dietary restrictions, but they were professional, polite, and never threw starry tantrums,” she added.

Preeti emphasised how Shah Rukh, in particular, made younger actors feel at ease. “He never made us feel like we were working with a superstar. He would spend time with us, talk to us, and even give advice but always in a way that felt like a friendly suggestion, never like preaching.”

She fondly recalled a personal moment during the filming of the song 'Soni Soni', when she struggled with lip-syncing. Shah Rukh came to her aid, encouraging her to sing the song out loud to get the expressions right. “I was conscious about my deep voice and hesitated to sing, but he said the camera captures everything and singing loudly would bring out the right emotion. I followed his advice, and the shot was okayed,” she said.

Directed by Aditya Chopra, Mohabbatein became one of the most iconic romantic dramas of the early 2000s. It not only featured the powerful duo of Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan but also introduced several newcomers, including Preeti Jhangiani, Kim Sharma, Shamita Shetty, Uday Chopra, Jimmy Sheirgill, and Jugal Hansraj.
