The makers of the upcoming Bollywood film ‘Cocktail 2’, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna, have officially announced its theatrical release date. Directed by Homi Adajania, the film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on June 19, generating significant excitement among fans since its announcement.

Serving as a follow-up to the 2012 hit ‘Cocktail’, the new instalment is written by Luv Ranjan and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the banner of Maddock Films. The makers recently unveiled posters featuring the three lead actors, confirming the film’s release timeline and offering a glimpse into the film’s vibe.

First look teaser to release in theatres

Along with the posters, the production house announced that the film’s first teaser will be released in theatres on March 18.

The newly released posters show Kapoor, Mandanna and Sanon seated inside a car, hinting at a relaxed and playful road-trip setting. While the storyline has been kept tightly under wraps, the film has already wrapped its shoot.

Shoot wrapped, director shares message

Adajania recently confirmed the completion of filming with a social media post from the wrap party. The picture featured the director alongside the three actors smiling for the camera.

Cast collaborations and film background

The film reunites Kapoor and Sanon after their earlier collaboration in ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’. It also marks Kapoor’s first on-screen pairing with Mandanna.

The original ‘Cocktail’, directed by Adajania, starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. The 2012 film revolved around a modern love triangle between three friends navigating relationships, love and friendship, and was widely appreciated for its contemporary storytelling. It went on to perform strongly at the box office, reportedly collecting over ₹120 crore.

Adajania is also known for directing films such as ‘Being Cyrus’, ‘Finding Fanny’, ‘Angrezi Medium’ and ‘Murder Mubaarak’, as well as the web series ‘Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo’.
