Suriya's upcoming film ‘Scene’ is heading for a busy box-office debut on November 6, with its advance booking figures indicating an encouraging start. The film, directed by Jithu Madhavan, has reportedly collected Rs 4.33 crore through pre-release ticket sales, according to Sacnilk.

Interestingly, Kerala has emerged as one of the major markets for the film even before its theatrical release. While Tamil Nadu has contributed Rs 2.04 crore to the advance booking collection, Kerala has recorded Rs 1.55 crore. Karnataka has added another Rs 36.89 lakh to the total.

The film's Kerala response is particularly noteworthy, considering the combination of Suriya and Jithu Madhavan, whose Malayalam films ‘Romancham’ and ‘Aavesham’ earned considerable attention. The presence of Nazriya Nazim and Naslen has also added to the interest surrounding the project in the state.

‘Scene’ is set to release in more than 550 theatres across Kerala, making it one of Suriya's biggest theatrical releases in the state. Sree Gokulam Movies, owned by Gokulam Gopalan, is handling the film's distribution in Kerala, while Sakthi Film Factory holds the Tamil Nadu distribution rights.

‘Scene’ faces competition from ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’ and ‘Ramayana’

The November 6 release window is turning out to be a crowded one for ‘Scene’. The Suriya-starrer will compete with Nayanthara's ‘Mookuthi Amman 2’, directed by Sundar C, and Nitesh Tiwari's ‘Ramayana’, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash.

In Kerala, the film will also face competition from ‘Disco’, directed by Ullas Chemban. Written by Chemban Vinod Jose, the Malayalam film features Antony Varghese Pepe, Arjun Ashokan, Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Femina George, Lukman Avaran and Dev Mohan.

With several films arriving in theatres around the same time, the opening weekend will be crucial in determining how ‘Scene’ performs at the box office.
