Following a stellar year marked by high-profile debuts in both Telugu and Malayalam cinema, acclaimed dance choreographer Sandy is juggling a demanding lineup of upcoming projects. Yet, it is his recent, unexpected cameo on the sets of RJ Balaji’s directorial venture, Karuppu, starring Suriya, that has taken social media by storm.

Sandy makes a viral appearance in a sequence that directly parodies his own iconic "chocolate coffee" scene from Lokesh Kanagaraj's blockbuster Leo. Speaking to media portal Rednool, Sandy disclosed how the surprise collaboration unfolded. "RJ Balaji initially approached me for a song in Karuppu," he revealed. "He then pitched a scene recreating the Leo coffee sequence. I loved the idea and agreed to the cameo."

Replicating his exact look from the original film proved to be an unexpected obstacle, as Sandy was sporting a heavy beard and short hair for an ongoing project. Although he initially requested a modified appearance, Balaji insisted on the authentic Leo aesthetic, prompting Sandy to seek permission from his current producers to shave.

The sequence features Sandy’s character obsessively demanding chocolate coffee at a cafe, only for Suriya's character, Karuppusamy, to intervene using supernatural powers. Reflecting on the filming experience alongside co-stars Suriya and Trisha, Sandy recalled the lighthearted atmosphere on set. "Suriya sir and Trisha ma'am enjoyed the performance. "Suriya sir even pulled my leg and teased me during the shoot,"" he shared.
