Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Raj Nidimoru tied the knot in an intimate ceremony, with the actress turning heads in a traditional red silk saree, gold jewellery, and a statement diamond ring.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu and filmmaker Raj Nidimoru tied the knot on 1 December 2025 in an intimate ceremony held at Sadhguru’s Isha Foundation in Coimbatore. Surrounded by about 30 close friends and family members, the couple exchanged rings and performed the Bhuta Shuddhi Vivaha ritual, a spiritual ceremony held at the Linga Bhairavi Temple, according to HT.
Their wedding pictures have since taken over social media, with fans celebrating the union and praising Samantha’s deeply traditional yet refined bridal look. The actor, known for her minimalist aesthetic in recent years, chose a classic South Indian ensemble that highlighted heritage textiles, intricate craftsmanship and understated beauty.
A deep red silk saree with timeless craftsmanship
For her wedding, Samantha, 38, wore a traditional red silk saree – a colour rooted in Tamil and South Indian bridal customs. The drape featured intricate golden zari work from Arpita Mehta’s collection, designed with a wide, ornate border and detailed floral motifs. The lustrous fabric, combined with symmetrical patterns and heritage-style embroidery, gave the ensemble a regal finish reminiscent of heirloom temple-woven pieces.
The pallu was draped in a conventional style, falling neatly over her shoulder to showcase the handiwork. Small zari buttas scattered across the saree added refinement without overwhelming the silhouette.
Her blouse, crafted from matching silk, carried gold embroidery that echoed the saree’s design. With its high neckline and elbow-length sleeves, the blouse reinforced a classic South Indian bridal silhouette.
Gold jewellery dominates the bridal styling
Samantha paired her saree with striking gold jewellery that leaned into traditional aesthetics. A broad temple-style choker rested at her neckline, complemented by a slightly longer necklace that added depth and weight to the look. Her wrists were stacked with textured gold bangles, and she wore multiple rings to match the richness of the ensemble.
The standout accessory, however, was her large wedding ring – a statement square or cushion-cut stone set in a bold frame. Its contemporary sparkle contrasted beautifully with the heavy gold jewellery and quickly became one of the most talked-about pieces from the ceremony.
Minimalist makeup and the classic bridal gajra
The actor chose a soft, minimal palette for her makeup, opting for nude lips and defined kohl-lined eyes. Her hair was tied up in a sleek bun adorned with a white mogra gajra, adding a touch of tradition to the otherwise clean beauty look.
Samantha also kept her mehendi minimal, staying consistent with the understated elegance of her overall appearance.
Raj Nidimoru’s simple and complementary groom’s look
Raj, 46, chose a cream kurta-pyjama set for the wedding, styled with a textured beige Nehru jacket that featured subtle weaving. His outfit balanced Samantha’s ornate bridal attire, creating a harmonious visual pairing.
What is Bhuta Shuddhi Vivaha?
The couple took part in the Bhuta Shuddhi Vivaha, a marriage ritual from the yogic tradition that focuses on purifying and balancing the five elements – earth, water, fire, air and space. Unlike conventional community-based wedding customs, this ceremony is centred on aligning the couple at an elemental level, fostering clarity, harmony and a deeper spiritual bond.
Conducted before Linga Bhairavi, the ritual involves fire offerings, chants and specific practices meant to refine the inner system. Couples are required to wear the Devi pendant during the process and may include a mangalsutra if they choose. According to Isha Yoga guidelines, the ritual can be performed at the Linga Bhairavi Temple in Coimbatore, other abodes of the deity or even at a venue selected by the couple. It is open to first-time marriages as well as vow renewals, though it is not recommended for pregnant brides due to the nature of the elemental purification involved.
A low-key ceremony
Although the couple had sparked dating rumours earlier this year, neither had confirmed the relationship publicly until they shared their wedding photos. Both Samantha and Raj were previously married.
Samantha was earlier married to actor Naga Chaitanya; the couple separated four years after their wedding, and Chaitanya later married actor Sobhita Dhulipala. Raj, meanwhile, was previously married to Shhyamali De, with the pair finalising their divorce in 2022. Speculation about Samantha and Raj’s growing closeness began in early 2024, intensifying as Samantha started sharing photos with the filmmaker on social media over the past year, fuelling talk of a developing relationship long before the couple made it official.
Raj Nidimoru, originally from Tirupati, pursued his studies at SVU Engineering College before moving to the United States. After leaving a career in the tech industry, he transitioned to filmmaking, collaborating with TK on projects such as ‘99’, ‘Shor in the City’, ‘Cinema Bandi’, ‘Unpaused’, and acclaimed series including ‘The Family Man’, ‘Farzi’ and ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’. Known for his talent in crafting sharp, character-driven narratives, Nidimoru has carved a distinct niche in the OTT space.
