If the buzz is to be believed, Salman Khan could soon take over as the new host of Kaun Banega Crorepati, replacing none other than Amitabh Bachchan. While there’s been no official confirmation yet, a report by Bollywood Hungama has sparked major curiosity.

A source quoted in the report claimed that Salman is a natural fit for the role, thanks to his massive fan base and strong pull, especially in smaller towns.

“Salman has ruled TV before—remember Bigg Boss? He connects with the masses, which is exactly what KBC needs,” the insider said.

The same source also mentioned that Amitabh Bachchan may be stepping back from the show for “personal reasons,” paving the way for Salman to possibly take the hot seat next.

What’s interesting is that Sony TV had already dropped a promo in early April featuring Big B himself, teasing the return of KBC Season 17.

The promo had a quirky twist with Bachchan playing a man with a tummy ache—classic Big B style. It also opened up registrations for the new season. As of now, the show is expected to return in August, though the exact date is still under wraps.

Amitabh Bachchan has been the face of Kaun Banega Crorepati since it began in 2000. He only skipped one season, the third, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. If this switch really happens, it would mark only the second time someone else has hosted the show.
