Mumbai: As Bollywood superstar Salman Khan celebrated his 60th birthday, one of the most heartfelt wishes came from his longtime bodyguard Shera, who has stood by the actor for nearly three decades. Taking to social media, Shera shared a deeply emotional note, calling Salman his “Maalik” and praising his resilience, strength, and humility.

Sharing a photograph of himself twinning in black with the Sultan star on Instagram, Shera wrote that he has witnessed Salman face life’s challenges with “style, strength, and silence”—qualities he said set the actor apart.

"That’s why you’re not just a star……you’re the biggest Superstar,” added Shera.

“Because of you, I’ve earned so much love nd respect and an identity I’m truly proud of,” Shera wrote, wishing Salman good health, happiness, and continued success.

Salman Khan and Shera’s bonding

Shera, whose real name is Gurmeet Singh Jolly, is widely regarded as one of the most recognisable celebrity bodyguards in the country. More than a security professional, he is known to share a close and affectionate bond with Salman Khan. Shera has often referred to the actor as his “Maalik,” a term he has explained as meaning far more than a master, calling Salman his guiding force and protector.

In earlier interviews, Shera has said that ensuring the safety of Salman Khan, his family, and his residence remains his top priority, adding that he would go to any extent to protect him.

Shera has been part of Salman Khan’s life for almost 30 years. Before entering Bollywood’s security circuit, he was a competitive bodybuilder and won accolades at Mr. Mumbai and Mr. Maharashtra competitions. He later founded Tiger Security, one of the country’s prominent private security firms. Reports suggest he earns around ₹2 crore annually.

He even made a brief on-screen appearance in Salman’s 2011 film Bodyguard.
