New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to Bollywood actor Salman Khan in a case concerning the alleged misuse of his identity by online platforms.
The notice was reportedly issued after a China-based AI voice generation company approached the court seeking to overturn an interim injunction granted in the actor’s favour, arguing that the creation of voice models forms a legitimate part of its business activities.

The court has asked Khan to file his response within four weeks. The next hearing is scheduled for February 27.
Khan had earlier approached the High Court alleging that multiple websites, social media accounts, unauthorised pages and online sellers were misusing his images, voice clips, likeness and persona without consent. He claimed these were being used to promote products, run advertisements, create deepfake content and drive online traffic.
In December 2025, the Delhi High Court had directed several social media intermediaries to act on the interim order passed in the case.
Many celebrities including Kamal Haasan, Sunil Gavaskar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Kumar Sanu, Jr NTR and Akkineni Nagarjuna have approached the Delhi High Court alleging unauthorised use of their identity in recent years. All of them were granted interim protection.
Similar cases have also been filed by spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, along with journalists and digital creators such as Bhuvan Bam, Sudhir Chaudhary and Raj Shamani.
