Salman Khan has finally addressed weeks of speculation surrounding his noticeably slimmer appearance, revealing that his dramatic transformation was intentional and not linked to any undisclosed health issue. The Bollywood star disclosed that he has lost 16 kilograms, putting to rest rumours that had gained momentum after several recent public appearances.

The actor shared the update during his appearance on Prime Video's reality show 'Alliance', where he visited to support his brother, Sohail Khan, a contestant on the programme. Their candid conversation about fitness quickly became the talking point, with Salman confirming that his weight loss was part of a deliberate physical transformation.

Salman reveals he has lost 16 kg

In a light-hearted exchange on the show, Salman first complimented Sohail on his fitness journey, remarking, "You've lost weight."

Sohail responded by showing off his toned physique and revealing that he had shed 12 kilograms. Salman then surprised those present by sharing that he had gone even further with his own transformation.

"I am down to 16," the actor said, confirming he has lost 16 kilograms.

The revelation comes after social media had been flooded with comments from concerned fans who noticed the actor looking leaner than usual in recent weeks.

Rumours followed recent public appearances

Questions about Salman's health intensified after he attended an event organised by Mumbai's Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), where many online users remarked that he appeared significantly thinner and less energetic than before.

During the event, Salman laid the foundation stone for the authority's Data Collection and Verification Support Centre and handed over house keys to beneficiaries. However, much of the online conversation shifted away from the event itself and focused on his physical appearance, prompting widespread speculation about his well-being.

The actor later posted photographs on Instagram with the caption, "Aap logon ki tabiyat kaisi hai?" ("How is everyone? How is your health?"), a message many fans interpreted as his subtle response to the rumours.

A history of health challenges

Salman has previously spoken publicly about living with trigeminal neuralgia, a neurological condition that causes severe facial pain, often described as electric shock-like sensations. The disorder affects the trigeminal nerve, which carries sensory signals from the face to the brain, and can become progressively more painful over time.

While the condition is more commonly diagnosed in women and people over the age of 50, Salman has continued working despite previously describing the intense pain associated with the illness.

His latest remarks, however, indicate that his recent weight loss is unrelated to fresh health concerns.

Fitness transformation sparks film speculation

Although Salman did not explain why he chose to lose weight, fans have linked the transformation to his upcoming action film, tentatively titled 'SVC63', which is expected to mark his first collaboration with actor Nayanthara.

The film is anticipated to feature several high-octane action sequences, leading many to believe the actor has been preparing physically for the role.

Salman is also expected to return as host of the next season of 'Bigg Boss' after the conclusion of 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 15'.

Hint at future projects

The actor has also fuelled curiosity about his upcoming slate by asking fans to remain patient regarding future announcements. In a recent social media post, Salman hinted that an update on his long-delayed film 'Maatrubhumi' would be shared when the time is right, further raising anticipation among his followers.
