Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that another Deadpool movie is in the works, but the next project may not necessarily be Deadpool 4. Here's what the actor revealed about Wade Wilson's future in the MCU.

Ryan Reynolds has confirmed that another Deadpool movie is in development, although the actor has not revealed whether it will be a ‘Deadpool 4’ sequel or another Marvel project featuring Wade Wilson.
Speaking at Fanatics Fest, Reynolds said there are still several lesser-known elements from the Deadpool comics that have not yet made it to the big screen. He also expressed interest in bringing some of those comic book storylines to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“So, there’s a few really deep cuts that I think are missing from the movies. I think there’s a few deep cuts missing from some of the comics. There’s some stuff that you know I love that is incredible. Jerry Davis was an incredible comic writer... There’s eventually another Deadpool film,” Reynolds said.
The confirmation comes after Reynolds previously indicated that he wanted to approach Wade Wilson's next appearance differently following Deadpool & Wolverine. The actor had suggested that Deadpool could appear as part of a larger ensemble rather than lead another standalone film.
In November 2024, Reynolds also said that working on the Deadpool franchise had consumed a major part of his life, suggesting that the character could take a break after Deadpool & Wolverine.

Details about the next Deadpool project remain under wraps. Reports have previously linked the franchise's future to the possible appearance of several X-Men characters, although Marvel Studios has not confirmed those reports. Hugh Jackman could also potentially return as Wolverine after appearing alongside Reynolds in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Ryan Reynolds has also been linked to Avengers: Doomsday, with reports suggesting that Deadpool could appear in the upcoming Marvel film. Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed his casting.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to feature Robert Downey Jr. in a new role within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is scheduled for release on December 18.
