Kochi: As per the long awaited amicus curiae report on ‘review bombing’ submitted to the high court, no movie review should be published within 48 hours of a film’s release. It also includes other consequential instructions regarding review bombing. The report, presented by Adv Shyam Padman, emphasizes that reviews should not aim to generate controversies for the sake of clickbait.
The report delves into the impact of review bombing on films, citing a five-part series published by Mathrubhumi. Earlier, the State police chief had come forward with specific protocols to curb negative reviewing of recently released movies. The amicus curiae report is based on this.
Justin Devan Ramachandran, who also sought the Central Government’s stance on the reports, adjourned the petitions for further consideration.
