Chennai: Taking a brief break from his busy schedule, superstar Rajinikanth travelled to the Himalayas for a spiritual recharge. Reports suggest that he visited the Swami Dayananda Ashram in Rishikesh, where he paid his respects to Swami Dayananda. During his stay, the actor reportedly meditated along the banks of the Ganga and participated in the Ganga Aarti.

The reports further indicate that the '2.0' star visited Dwarahat after his time in Rishikesh. Several photos from his spiritual getaway have surfaced on social media. In one image, Rajinikanth is seen wearing white attire, eating food served on disposable leaf plates (pattal) placed on a roadside stone surface, with a car and a hilly backdrop behind him. Another photo shows him conversing with a group of men, likely at the ashram, followed by a picture of him standing alongside a priest, offering his respects.

Recently, Rajinikanth also expressed his condolences following the tragic stampede during the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) rally organised by actor-turned-politician Vijay.

On X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: “The news of the loss of innocent lives in the incident that occurred in Karur shakes the heart and causes immense grief. My deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. Comfort to those who were injured. My heart trembles. The news coming from Karur brings shock and sorrow. I am at a loss for words to express my deepest condolences to the innocent people who lost their lives trapped in the crowd congestion. I urge the Tamil Nadu government to ensure that those rescued from the congestion receive proper treatment and that those affected receive appropriate relief.”

On the professional front, Rajinikanth was recently seen in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Coolie’, alongside Nagarjuna and Shruti Haasan in pivotal roles. The film hit theatres on August 14.
