Indore businessman`s honeymoon murder in Meghalaya to be depicted in `Honeymoon in Shillong`. Family seeks justice through the film.

Indore: The family of Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore-based transport businessman who was brutally murdered during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, has given their consent for a film based on the shocking incident. The murder, which drew national attention following the arrest of his wife Sonam and her alleged lover, will be the subject of a movie tentatively titled 'Honeymoon in Shillong'.
The film is being directed by SP Nimbawat, who confirmed that the script is complete.
Raghuvanshi’s elder brother, Sachin, told reporters, “We gave our consent for the upcoming film on the murder case. We believe that if we do not bring the story of my brother's murder on the big screen, people will not be able to know who was right and who was wrong?”

Another brother, Vipin, added that they want to present the correct image of Meghalaya through the film
Director Nimbawat said the movie aims to highlight the betrayal faced by Raja Raghuvanshi shortly after his marriage. “Through our film, we want to give a message to the public that such incidents of betrayal should be stopped,” he stated.
While the names of the actors have not yet been revealed, Nimbawat confirmed that 80% of the film will be shot in Indore and the remaining 20% in different locations across Meghalaya.
The tragic incident took place in May when Raja travelled to Meghalaya with his wife Sonam for their honeymoon. He was reported missing shortly after, and on June 2, his mutilated body was found in a deep gorge near a waterfall in the Sohra area (Cherrapunji) of East Khasi Hills district.
Following the investigation, police arrested eight people, including Sonam and her alleged lover, Raj Kushwaha.
