Kochi: The dispute between PVR Cinemas and the Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) has now been settled, allowing the screening of Malayalam films to resume at PVR theatres. Malayalam movies have already begun showing at Kochi’s Forum Mall and on PVR screens in Kozhikode.
Previous disagreements among most centres were resolved through online meetings, leaving only two centres initially excluded, but this has now been rectified. It has been reported that they have agreed to screen Malayalam films on all screens across India.
On April 11, PVR halted the screening of Malayalam films, which notably affected movies released thereafter.
Currently, PVR operates 22 screens in Kochi and 44 screens across the state. Across South India alone, PVR has 572 screens in 100 locations.
