Mumbai: People often watch some movies more than once, while others may feel like walking out midway. For any of these reasons, what if there was a system where you pay only for the time you spend watching the movie in the theatre? Theatre chain PVR Inox is introducing such a system on a trial basis called the 'Flexi Show.' This system is being implemented in select theatres on a trial basis.

Here’s how it works: Once you scan the QR code on your ticket, your seat will be monitored using a video analytics system with the help of artificial intelligence. The system tracks when people enter and exit the seat, and the amount will be calculated based on the remaining time of the movie.

Refunds are issued depending on how much of the movie is left. If more than 75 per cent of the movie remains, 60 per cent of the ticket price will be refunded. If 50 to 75 per cent is left, half of the ticket price will be refunded. If 25 to 50 per cent remains, 30 per cent will be refunded.

However, there is a catch, the ticket will cost 10 per cent more than the regular price.
