Just days after its theatrical release, pirated copies of Pushpa 2: The Rule starring Allu Arjun has been uploaded on YouTube. The channels are hosting the illegal copies, which have already gained lakhs of views. Despite the movie’s massive popularity, viewers are now opting for the free online version rather than purchasing a ticket.
Pushpa 2: The Rule, which hit theatres on December 5, was already making waves at the box office. However, shortly after the film's release, it was illegally uploaded to other piracy websites. These sites were offering the movie for download in various formats, including HD, making it all too easy for fans to access the movie without paying.
While piracy is clearly hurting the film’s revenue, Pushpa 2: The Rule is still dominating the box office. The movie has already crossed Rs 800 crore globally and is on its way to breaking even more records. It’s even surpassed Pushpa: The Rise’s lifetime earnings in just two days!
The Hindi version of the film alone has earned Rs 120 crore net, making Allu Arjun the first actor to have two films cross the Rs 100 crore net mark in Hindi.
Downloading or distributing pirated content is against India's Copyright Act and can lead to severe penalties, including hefty fines and imprisonment. Those found guilty could face up to three years in prison or be fined up to Rs 2 lakh for violating intellectual property laws.
