Prince William and Meghan Markle are both part of the 2026 Emmy nominations, with recognition for ‘The Reluctant Traveler’ and ‘With Love, Meghan’.

Prince William and Meghan Markle have both found themselves on this year's Emmy nominations list, albeit through very different television projects. While the Prince of Wales is linked to two Primetime Emmy nominations for his appearance on Apple TV+'s ‘The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy’, the Duchess of Sussex has earned her first Daytime Emmy nomination for her Netflix lifestyle series ‘With Love, Meghan’.
Although neither royal is nominated as an individual performer, the recognition places both members of the royal family at the centre of two acclaimed unscripted productions. William's project is competing at the Primetime Emmy Awards, while Meghan's series will vie for honours at the Daytime Emmys later this year.
Prince William's documentary appearance earns Primetime Emmy recognition
Prince William appears in an episode of the third season of Apple TV+'s ‘The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy’, which has been nominated for Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special and Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program.
The episode, titled ‘Living the Royal Life in the UK’, follows comedian and actor Eugene Levy as he visits Windsor Castle, where the Prince of Wales offers him a rare behind-the-scenes tour and an unusually candid conversation about royal life.
During the programme, William reflected on deeply personal subjects, including watching his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and his father, King Charles III, undergo cancer treatment. He also discussed his vision for the future of the monarchy, making the interview one of his most personal public conversations to date.
Levy later recalled how comfortable the prince made him feel during filming.
"I was taken aback by how at ease he made me feel right from the first second we met," Levy told ITV's Chris Ship.
"When he got to some of the more personal items, I had the feeling this might be something that he, you know, was ready to talk about or wanted to talk about, and use me to do it."
Reflecting on William's approach, Levy added, "He was just very approachable, and I think maybe wanted to convey that this is who he is."
"And it was my sense that this is the beginning of possibly a different way to go for the monarchy. Different form of monarchy. Different from the past."
The Apple TV+ programme will compete against ‘The American Revolution’ by Ken Burns and ‘The Daily Show Presents: Jordan Klepper Fingers the Pulse: Give the Man a Prize’ in its respective categories at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards, scheduled to take place on September 14.
Meghan Markle secures first Daytime Emmy nomination
Meanwhile, Meghan Markle has received her first Emmy recognition for Netflix's ‘With Love, Meghan’, which has been nominated for Outstanding Lifestyle Program at the 53rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
The lifestyle series centres on Meghan's interests in cooking, entertaining, gardening and home living. Filmed in Montecito, California, the programme has expanded to two seasons and a holiday special, although production did not take place at the Sussex family's private residence.
The series features appearances by celebrities including Mindy Kaling, Chrissy Teigen, Tan France, Jay Shetty and chef Roy Choi. Prince Harry also makes brief appearances, while Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, features in the programme.
Following the announcement, Meghan celebrated the nomination on Instagram by congratulating those involved in the production.
"A huge congratulations to the amazing crew, producers, and team who worked on With Love, Meghan on @netflix," she wrote.
The series will compete against ‘A Different Breed’, ‘George to the Rescue’, ‘The Motherhood’ and ‘The Wizard of Paws’. Winners will be announced during the Daytime Emmy Awards on Oct. 30.
Two projects, two different approaches
Although both William and Meghan appear in Emmy-nominated productions, the projects reflect distinctly different storytelling styles.
William's contribution comes through a documentary-style travel series that offers viewers a closer look at royal duties, British heritage and the future of the monarchy. His appearance is credited with bringing a more personal perspective to a programme built around exploration and cultural discovery.
Meghan's nomination, meanwhile, highlights the growing popularity of lifestyle programming on streaming platforms. Through ‘With Love, Meghan’, the Duchess has continued building her post-royal media career by focusing on food, gardening, hospitality and everyday living.
