Thiruvananthapuram: The investigation into the sexual abuse case against actor Siddique, former General Secretary of AMMA, has taken a crucial turn. The Special Investigation Team has gathered substantial evidence related to Siddique’s stay at the Mascot Hotel, as detailed in the complainant’s statement. Sources indicate that the team has confirmed both Siddique’s and the actress’s presence at the hotel.
The two were at the preview show of the film mentioned in the complaint. According to the actress, Siddique sexually abused her at the hotel in 2016. The team has completed its inspection of the hotel's documents and records. Led by Cantonment AC, the police team collected information from the hotel’s computer and guest register.
The actress stated that her name was listed in the hotel's guest register. The Special Investigation Team will proceed with recording the actress's statement before the magistrate.
The case emerged following the release of the Hema Committee report, which prompted the actress to come forward with her allegations against Siddique. She claimed that the abuse occurred years ago and that other female actors had similar experiences with Siddique. The police registered the case on Thursday around 1:30 am. If convicted, Siddique could face up to 7 years in prison.
