Panorama Studios has announced a major international expansion through a strategic four-film overseas worldwide distribution partnership with Phars Film (PHF), a leading global player in film distribution. The collaboration aims to significantly boost the reach of Malayalam cinema across priority international territories, beginning with a slate that includes high-profile titles and star-led productions.

The first release under the deal will be ‘Anomie’, starring Rahman and Bhavana, which is set to hit overseas screens on 6 February. The rollout will continue with ‘Drishyam 3’ (Malayalam) on 2 April, followed by ‘Tikitaka’ and Panorama Studios Production No 3.

Strengthening global reach for Malayalam films

With this alliance, Panorama Studios is positioning itself for an expanded theatrical presence abroad, leveraging PHF’s deep market penetration and established cinema network. The deal arrives at a time when Malayalam cinema has seen growing international interest, aided by strong storytelling and rising global recall.

A major highlight of the partnership is ‘Drishyam 3’, the next instalment of one of Malayalam cinema’s most successful and widely recognised thriller franchises. Led by Mohanlal, the film is expected to draw considerable attention in overseas markets given the franchise’s proven global appeal and box-office history.

Following ‘Drishyam 3’, the lineup continues with ‘Tikitaka’, frontlined by actor Asif Ali, and concludes with Panorama Studios Production No. 3 featuring Kunchacko Boban and Lijomol Jose. The slate underscores the studio’s emphasis on content-forward Malayalam cinema supported by leading industry talent.

Under the agreement, Phars Film – founded by industry veteran Ahmad Golchin – will oversee the overseas worldwide distribution and exhibition of all four titles. PHF, which already manages a significant volume of Hollywood, Bollywood and world cinema releases, brings extensive global distribution expertise to the partnership.

Importance of global markets

Kumar Mangat Pathak, Chairman of Panorama Studios, said, “International markets are increasingly central to the success of Indian films. Phars Film’s global distribution strength and market understanding make them a strong partner for this slate, which reflects our focus on story-led, talent-driven cinema.”

Ahmad Golchin, Founder of Phars Film, added, “Panorama Studios has consistently delivered high-quality, content-rich Indian cinema that travels well internationally. We are excited to collaborate with them on this diverse and powerful slate and ensure they reach audiences worldwide in a meaningful and impactful way.”

Both companies view the partnership as more than a one-off slate collaboration, describing it as the foundation for a long-term global pipeline that will support Indian films with strong cross-border appeal.
