Denying the allegations, Mucchal’s lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, said that no money had been received by his client

Music composer and filmmaker Palash Muchhal has issued a legal notice to a Marathi actor, seeking ₹10 crore in damages for defamation following allegations that he cheated the actor of ₹40 lakh.
Earlier this week, Vidnyan Mane, a 34-year-old actor and producer, approached the police in Maharashtra’s Sangli district, accusing Muchhal of cheating him. Mane has sought the registration of an FIR against the composer-filmmaker.
Denying the allegations, Muchhal’s lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, said that no money had been received by his client. He described the claims as baseless and motivated by an intention to defame Muchhal.
“We have sent a legal notice to Mane, a resident of Sangli, demanding ₹10 crore in damages for defamation,” Mithare said.

Muchhal also addressed the issue on social media, stating that he had initiated legal action against Mane over what he termed “false, outrageous and highly defamatory accusations” made with the deliberate intent to damage his reputation and character.
According to Mane’s complaint submitted to the Sangli Superintendent of Police, he met Muchhal in Sangli on December 5, 2023. During the meeting, Mane allegedly expressed interest in investing in film production, following which Muchhal suggested that he invest as a producer in his upcoming project, Nazaria.

The complaint alleges that Muchhal promised Mane a profit of ₹12 lakh on an investment of ₹25 lakh after the film’s release on OTT platforms, and also offered him a role in the film. The two reportedly met on two further occasions, after which Mane claims to have paid a total of ₹40 lakh to Muchhal by March 2025.
Mane has alleged that the project was not completed and that he received no response when he demanded the return of his money, prompting him to approach the police.
