The much-awaited teaser of ‘Thalavara’, featuring Arjun Ashokan in the lead role, is finally out. Set against the unique Palakkad dialect, the short clip offers a light-hearted yet intriguing peek into the film’s world.

Viewers will see Ashokan in a character and look completely different from anything he’s done before. The film is set to hit cinemas on 15 August.

Behind the camera

Directed by Akhil Anilkumar, the project is backed by producers Mahesh Narayanan and Shebin Backer, the team responsible for several notable Malayalam films over the years. The production is a joint effort between Shebin Backer Productions and Moving Narratives, with Revathy Sharma taking on the role of the female lead.

A high-profile collaboration

Mahesh Narayanan is known for directing hits such as ‘Take Off, C U Soon’, ‘Malik’ and ‘Ariyippu’. Shebin Backer has produced audience favourites and critical successes like ‘Charlie’, ‘Take Off’, ‘Thanneer Mathan Dinangal’, ‘Super Sharanya’ and ‘Ariyippu’. 

The film’s music has already been well received. Its first romantic track, ‘Kandu Kandu Poochendu Then Vandu Pole Vannu Ninnu…,’ won over listeners, and the more recent release, ‘Elakozhiye…,’ has also been gaining attention on social media.

Joining Arjun Ashokan on screen are Devadarshini Chetan, Sharath Sabha, Athira Mariam, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Prashanth Murali, Sam Mohan, Harish Kumar, Sohan Seenulal, Shaju Sreedhar, Vishnu Raghu, Muhammed Rafi, Manoj Moses, Shebin Benson, Ashwath Lal, Amith Mohan and Rajeswari, among others.

The story has been written by Akhil Anilkumar, while the screenplay is a collaboration between him and Appu Aslam.
