BTS's Suga's upcoming discharge from South Korean social service will be low-key, with BigHit Music requesting fans avoid the discharge site to prevent overcrowding

While fans are buzzing with excitement as Suga is just days away from finishing his alternative military service, BigHit Music has a simple message: “No big plans, and please don’t show up.”
In a statement posted on Weverse, BigHit confirmed that Suga will soon be discharged from his role as a social service worker, a form of non-combat military duty in South Korea. While they didn’t mention the exact date, reports say he’ll be done on June 21.
“SUGA is close to completing his service as a Social Work Personnel and will soon be discharged. No special events are planned on the day,” the statement read.
No gathering, just good vibes
BigHit also made a heartfelt request to fans: don’t visit the discharge site. Not only are there no official celebrations planned, but the agency warned that crowds could lead to safety issues.
“Overcrowding can pose safety risks, and we sincerely request our fans not to visit the sites in person. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts.”
So, no airport welcome, no pop-up fan project, just support from afar. And honestly, that sounds just like Suga: low-key, but deeply meaningful.
Suga to ARMY: “I miss you so much”
Despite the low-key plan, Suga has been keeping ARMY close to his heart. In a sweet voice message shared during BTS Festa, he told fans:
“Hello, this is SUGA. It feels like it's been so long since I got to greet you. ARMY, have you all been doing well? I've been spending my time waiting for the day I get to see you again. I miss you so much. I love you, everyone.”
He started his social service duty back on September 22, 2023, instead of active duty because of a past shoulder injury. Since then, fans have been counting the days until he’s back — and now, that wait is almost over.
The BTS reunion we’ve all been waiting for
Once Suga is out, all seven BTS members will officially be done with military service. It’s been over 2.5 years since they were last active as a group, but the finish line is finally here.
Jin (the first to enlist) was discharged in June 2024, followed by J-Hope in October 2024, and the rest, Namjoon, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook, just last week.
All seven recently attended J-Hope’s concert in Seoul. While only Jin and Jungkook joined him on stage, fans were thrilled to see the whole group together again, a glimpse of what’s to come once they’re fully back in action.
