The film, co-starring Joju George, has wrapped filming and is expected to explore a mystery-laden investigation with symbolic undertones.

The makers of Jeethu Joseph’s upcoming Malayalam thriller ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’ have unveiled a brand-new poster. Released to mark actor Biju Menon’s birthday, the image shows him in a fierce, intense look, standing among rows of uniformed police officers as media camera flashes cut through the frame. His piercing gaze suggests the tension and mystery at the heart of the story.
In the film, Biju Menon plays a police officer, while Joju George also headlines the cast. The project is produced by Shaji Nadesan under the August Cinema, Cineholix and Bedtime Stories banners, with a screenplay by Dinu Thomas Eelan. Production has wrapped after schedules in Kochi, Vandiperiyar and Peerumedu. The earlier title poster already stirred curiosity among cinephiles, and early hints point to a plot set against a shadowy, suspense-filled backdrop.
Jeethu Joseph, known for a string of Malayalam blockbusters including ‘My Boss’, ‘Mummy & Me’, ‘Memories’, ‘Drishyam’, ‘Drishyam 2’, ‘Kooman’ and ‘Neru’, is directing what is tipped to be a crime investigation drama. The title ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’ carries symbolic weight: according to the Bible, Christ was crucified between two thieves, and the one on the right, the ‘good thief’, repented at the last moment and was promised paradise.
The film’s title therefore invites speculation on whether its storyline draws on this layered reference. The title look was first revealed with the tagline ‘Confession of a broken soul’.
