The release date for ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’ is out, with a low-light announcement reel showcasing Biju Menon and Joju George.

The makers of Jeethu Joseph’s upcoming Malayalam film ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’ have confirmed that the thriller will arrive in cinemas on 30 January, following the release of a dark-toned motion poster featuring lead actors Biju Menon and Joju George. The announcement video, lit in shifting, low-key lighting, set the mood for what appears to be a brooding investigation drama.
The project is backed by producer Shaji Nadesan through August Cinema, in association with Cineholix and Bed Time Stories. Dinu Thomas Eelan has written the screenplay, and early promotional cues point towards a story rooted in mystery with an undercurrent of emotional turmoil. Goodwill Entertainments will distribute the film.
Production recently wrapped after a schedule spread across Kochi and hill-country locations including Vandiperiyar and Peerumade. The film marks another collaboration between Jeethu Joseph and actors known for grounded performances, with both Menon and George expected to lead a narrative driven by crime, tension and psychological weight.
Joseph – whose filmography includes ‘My Boss’, ‘Mummy & Me’, ‘Memories’, ‘Drishyam’, ‘Drishyam 2’, ‘Kooman’ and ‘Neru’ – is widely associated with high-stake narratives and procedural detailing. Industry talk suggests that ‘Valathu Vashathe Kallan’ will stay close to those instincts, leaning into the structure of a crime-led inquiry.
The title reveal earlier arrived with the line “Confession of a Broken Soul”, a phrase that hinted at themes of regret, secrecy and internal fracture. Vishnu Shyam handles the music, with lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar.
