Pratik Gandhi stars in a gripping espionage drama set in 1970s India. Premieres August 13 on Netflix.

Mumbai: Netflix is set to drop its next gripping original series Saare Jahan Se Accha on August 13, a taut espionage drama anchored in the turbulent political and security landscape of the 1970s. Starring Pratik Gandhi in the lead role as an Indian intelligence officer, the series promises a riveting blend of suspense, strategy, and sacrifice.
Created by Gaurav Shukla and produced by Bombay Fables, the show brings together a powerhouse cast featuring Sunny Hinduja, Suhail Nayyar, Kritika Kamra, Tillotama Shome, Rajat Kapoor, and Anup Soni. The creative producer is Bhavesh Mandalia, with direction by Sumit Purohit.
At the centre of the story is Vishnu Shankar (played by Gandhi), a disciplined intelligence operative tasked with preventing a catastrophic nuclear threat to the nation.
Speaking about the project, Pratik Gandhi said, “With Saare Jahan Se Accha, we’ve built a world that’s urgent, intense, intimidating, and full of quiet tension. Playing intelligence officer Vishnu Shankar, someone who walks the tightrope between duty and morality, was one of the most challenging roles I’ve taken on. Can’t wait for the audience to step into this world of espionage with us!"
Written by a team that includes Bhavesh Mandalia, Gaurav Shukla, Meghna Srivastava, Abhijeet Khuman, Shivam Shankar, Kunal Kushwah, and Ishraq Shah, the show captures the unseen world of Indian intelligence operatives who work behind the scenes to protect national security.
Described as a “tribute to the brilliance and quiet courage of India’s intelligence community,” the series sheds light on those who operate in the shadows, where victories are often invisible but deeply impactful.
The fictional drama, Saare Jahan Se Accha premieres on August 13, just ahead of India’s Independence Day, and will be available exclusively on Netflix.
