After the massive success of Nelson Dilipkumar’s ‘Jailer’, the sequel is already creating buzz — and this time, Telugu fans have a special reason to celebrate. Nandamuri Balakrishna is all set to join superstar Rajinikanth in the much-awaited action drama, bringing an exciting new twist to the story.

A source close to the film’s team has confirmed to Hindustan Times that Balakrishna is officially on board.

“It’s true that NBK has said yes to a powerful role in Jailer 2," the source shared.

"He loved the story Nelson pitched and is excited to shoot soon. It’s more of a solid guest role than just a blink-and-miss cameo. Fans are definitely going to love it.”

Interestingly, Nelson had already spoken about this earlier. In 2023, while talking to Cinema Vikatan, he revealed that Balakrishna was considered for Jailer, but things didn’t fall into place.

“Balakrishna sir was in my mind, but I couldn’t fit his character properly into the script. That’s why I dropped it. In ‘Jailer 2’, if he does the role I have in mind, it will be powerful. I want him to play a deadly police officer,” Nelson had said.

Earlier this month, when Shiva Rajkumar was promoting his Kannada film 45 in Hyderabad, he was asked about Balakrishna's involvement in Jailer 2.

He answered, “I don’t know if he’s acting in the film. I know I am because Nelson has confirmed. If Balakrishna joins, that’s great! We haven’t shared scenes together before, though we are quite close personally. He even calls my father Chikkappa (uncle).”
