Dulquer Salmaan is celebrating the success of his latest film, *Lucky Bhaskar', written and directed by Venky Atluri. The success event, held on Sunday, featured director Nag Ashwin, who recounted how he first met Dulquer and persuaded him to join the cast of his blockbuster film 'Mahanati'.
Dulquer made his debut in the Telugu film industry with Ashwin's acclaimed 'Mahanati', in which he portrayed the legendary actor Gemini Ganesan. Ashwin revealed that Dulquer initially turned down the role without even hearing the script, expressing his apprehensions about speaking Telugu and whether audiences would embrace him in a language that was not his native tongue. Reflecting on Dulquer's impressive trajectory in Telugu cinema, Ashwin noted how the actor has consistently achieved success and won the hearts of Telugu audiences.
“In Chennai, when I went to narrate 'Mahanati' to Dulquer garu, he said he couldn’t do Telugu films. ‘How will I manage the language? Will people even accept me? They’ll think I don’t know how to speak it.’ Fast forward six years and three blockbuster hits later, he has become more of a Telugu superstar than many others. I’m thrilled for him, and I want to thank him," Ashwin said. The video of the event later went viral on social media.
Dulquer also recently made a cameo in Ashwin’s mega-hit sci-fi movie 'Kalki 2898 AD', featuring Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. Meanwhile, 'Lucky Bhaskar' is on the verge of crossing the Rs 100 crore milestone at the box office. Looking ahead, Dulquer has exciting projects lined up for his fans, including 'Kaantha' and 'Aakasam La Oka Tara'.
