Multi-faceted film personality Vineeth Sreenivasan, son of Malayalam cinema legend Sreenivasan, recalled an interesting anecdote related to the 1990 Malayalam comedy film Akkare Akkare Akkare, in an interview to a YouTube channel. Directed by Priyadarshan and starring Mohanlal and Sreenivasan in the lead roles, the film was the third installment in the iconic comedy-detective saga featuring the beloved characters ‘Dasan’ and ‘Vijayan’, following Nadodikkattu and Pattanapravesham.

Apparently, Sreenivasan himself had penned the screenplay for the comedy-thriller.

However, what has now caught public attention is a candid revelation by Vineeth: his father forgot the script of the Priyadarshan directorial as he boarded his flight to the United States, where Akkare Akkare Akkare was predominantly shot.

“My father actually left behind the script of Akkare Akkare Akkare in India as he boarded his flight to the United States. He landed there without the script but somehow managed to put it together two days after arriving in the country — and eventually completed the film!”

Vineeth’s revelation adds to the many funny and memorable moments surrounding the legendary collaboration between Mohanlal, Sreenivasan, and Priyadarshan, a trio that has delivered several evergreen hits to the Malayalam film industry.

Meanwhile, Vineeth was last seen in the film Oru Jaathi Jaathakam, directed by M. Mohanan, while Sreenivasan, who had been unwell for some time, is now recovering steadily and gradually re-engaging in his creative endeavours. (With inputs from Agencies)
