Malayalam Cine Technicians Association (MACTA) has extended support to director Nadirshah who landed in a controversy over the title of his upcoming movie ‘Eesho’ starring Jayasurya. The association has declared its stance in a meeting chaired by vice-chairman M Padmakumar.
MACTA asserted that the unnecessary controversy over the movie title is not expected in Kerala. Highlighting the need to protect artistic freedom, MACTA declared all support to Nadirshah and his upcoming movie ‘Eesho’.
Many Christian associations have come forward protesting against the title and tagline of the movie.
Following this, the makers of the movie removed the tagline which reads ‘Not From the Bible’.
Responding to the controversies Nadirshah has stated that Eesho is just the name of a character and he is ready to face any punishment if anyone finds the movie hurts religious sentiments.
