Kochi: The High Court has dismissed the public interest litigation (PIL) filed against the film 'Eesho'. The Christian Association for Social Action had filed a petition claiming an injunction restricting the film from being released. A number of pastors and believers have accused the film of hurting religious sentiments of Christians.
A bench headed by the Chief Justice has dismissed the petition. The bench pointed out that the court could not intervene in this matter just because the movie's title is of a god.
Jayasurya will play the lead role in Nadirshah's Eesho. The controversy erupted as soon as the film's poster was released. The poster also had the tagline 'Not from the Bible'. Following many objections on this, the tagline was removed and a new poster was released. Filmmakers and some other religious experts came out in support of Nadirshah.
